Reiki is similar to having a wonderful, soothing massage without the oils and without removing any clothing. It can be done anytime, anywhere, including your home or workplace. You will lay down on a massage table or sit in a comfortable chair (whichever you prefer), fully clothed. The practitioner will place their hands just above your body, or lightly on your body (whichever you prefer), using a systemic approach from head to toe. There is no manipulation of the skin or tissue - it is not a physical body massage, the focus is on your energy field.
Directly after a session, you should allow yourself time to become fully awake, because you may feel so relaxed that you feel “spaced out” for a few minutes afterward. It is suggested to sit for a few minutes and sip some cool water. Some time will be used to share between the partitioner and client any insights, thoughts, and feelings about the session for better clarity and support. It is common to feel an immediate improvement in your pain levels. Your energy and clarity can increase daily, thereby improving your overall sense of well being. Drinking plenty of water and enjoying a himalayan salt bath after the session is recommended to assist your body in flushing out toxins, both physical and emotional.
